Zoo Trip

Today we decided to head out to the Zoo. It was a beautiful day and we went early to beat the heat and most of the crowd too. We have a nice little zoo here. The size is quite appropriate for someone Zoie's age. She was very engaged and had a great time.
The above pic shows here asking where the birds went that kept flying overhead. We were in the Flamingo sanctuary and some type of duck-like bird kept flying right over then landing back on the water fall. She got so excited each time they would fly.

This pic sums up her enthusiasm throughout the entire trip. It seems she shares her mom and dad's love and interest in animals. It was a great trip. Animals were all out and some very active and beautiful weather - what more could you ask for?

Zoie's first BIG SWIM

We spent the weekend with Scott and Susan and had a great time. We were able to enjoy their community pool, spend time outside in the nice weather with all the kiddos and of course, eat at Ted's Escondido!!!

With much coaxing and mom close by we progressed to this very successfully after a bit of an adjustment period.Then after 30 seconds of sheer panicked crying, we enjoyed Syd's floaty for a bit. Once she was used to it she really liked it. We even went out to see Davis and Uncle Scott in the deep so she could say "Hi" to them. Hi seems to be the only thing she can come up with to say to her Uncle Scott. Like her Uncle Bubba, she thinks they are funny and interesting from a distance.

Then there is the matter of my Tyler Monster! My chosen name for him, quite fitting too if truth be told. He is terribly cute and terribly naughty at the same time. It seems he may have stolen my heart, I think it is the naughty part although it wouldn't have the same effect if he weren't so stinkin' cute.

We had a great time the entire weekend. It was good to be home though.

I fell off the blog!

Not really but we have had a wild few weeks. I spent a week getting ready for my parents to come visit. They were only here a few hours when we realized we would be going to OK, and so would they as we had lost Kelly's sweet Aunt Jeanie. The next two days were spent preparing for and traveling. I then spent about 10 days in with family and friends where I had little access to a computer. I hope to get some new pics and info out soon (when things get caught up at home anyway).

CIRCUSing with the Shriners

So here we are at Zoie's first ever circus. The pictures are really lame and yet another reason to pursue my new theory that I need a small purse sized camera in addition to our semi-professional version my husband totes. It is just too large to use in such cramped quarters or when I'm out with Zoie on my own (already toting her, the stroller, diaper bag, etc.- get the idea).
Back on subject now. The Shriners, alway a lively bunch with their hats and mustaches, put on a GREAT show. We were on the second row which helped to keep Zoie engaged. She loved the tigers and elephants. She didn't even mind the motorcycles.

She also got to ride her first pony. She loved it until they took off, then got a bit nervous. I must say they were keeping up a pretty good trot. It was quite difficult to dodge Pony Poo and keep Zoie from falling off. Anyway after a few seconds she was all good with the riding world.
