WHAT DATE IS IT???

So I'm pretty sure today is April 26th, RIGHT??? Well then this picture should explain my next response.....
SERIOUSLY?
Quoting a line from one of my favorite TV show (NOTE: Thank you writers for ending the strike) but, it seemed the most appropriate comment for our current situation.
Please observe the view from my front window.

And now the view from the door to our deck.
(Apologies for pictures taken through our window but, I wasn't going out there.)

So yes, this is what we woke up to this morning after sleet and rain yesterday morning and then snow from late morning to bedtime. We had 3.3 inches to be exact. Am I mistaken or is May arriving in 5 days?
The only good news is that an hours drive from here residents of our great state received 15 inches.
Crazy South Dakota!

CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IS IN THESE PANCAKES

BLUEBERRIES OF COURSE!
Now look.

Blueberry pancakes are a huge hit with this girl. She can easily gobble down 3 and would take more but I simply switch to regular fruit. Blueberries in general are her favorite food. Too bad they are so messy!

Warm Weather!!

So finally we get a truly beautiful day of weather. It was low 60's, no wind and lots of sun. We headed out yesterday morning for our first park trip of the year. Zoie was more interested in exploring than playing on the playground equipment.
We got to see lots of ducks and geese. She thought it was pretty exciting to see them take off and land on the pond. She has gotten very good at signing bird and used it lots as all kinds of birds were chirping and singing. We spent most of the day out and she did lots and lots of walking.

TODDLER OBSESSIONS

This will likely be the first of many posts under this title. It seems that with becoming a toddler come many obsessions. Currently Zoie is into layering her clothing. This must be a sign that she inherited a fabulous sense of style (obviously from me)! She is particularly interested in pants no matter how many pair she is already wearing. She also is quite fond of underwear, using it to accessorize in various ways. Today she is wearing her butterfly pants and shirt layered with her penguin pajamas and topped off with a nice pair of undies. I think her future is definitely destined for the fashion industry. Maybe someday I can visit her in Paris.

I'M THINKING REMBRANDT

This is Zoie's first finger painting. I think she is certainly gifted. Just look at the focus and concentration in the central area. Above all she didn't even try eating the paint! If nothing else, that proves her talent!!!!

Rock, Rocks and MORE Rocks

Here are some pics from our 1st spring-like day. This is Zoie standing in our driveway.

Look, I found some ROCKS!!!

Wow! There are lots of ROCKS! These rocks are in our neighbors driveway. Our driveway no longer looks like this (note 1st pic) as I just spent the afternoon cleaning them by any means possible. The rocks also filled our yard, to a degree you can't understand until you actually see it.

The city put these down on the street before winter - I suppose to help with traction in the snow. That is debatable, as it seems even natives aren't sure why they do it. Anyway, it made for a huge mess. I used a variety of means to clean up the mess. First rake, then broom and shovel, finally I went for the heavy duty tool and I broke out the leaf blower. That was pretty fun! After nap, we went back out and Zoie really liked the rocks so we hung out in our neighbors drive.

Hey, Libby likes Rocks too!!!

Oooh, so do I!!!

I love this warm weather and exploring outside!

WooHoo!!!

Just had to let you know how "fired up" I am. It is now 1:23pm and the temp is 54 degrees!!! This is the second day in a row and the first time it's been in the 50's in..... well let's just say almost all winter. (Winter being a really long season here.) Anyway I'm heading out the door as I write to dig into some yard work. I LOVE it! I really need a garden. Maybe next move. Hopefully later I'll take some photos to show the fruits of my labor and some fun with the girls once the little one is up!
